In the summer I tried to teach myself violin. It went awfully, and I gave up. Today I was inspired by Johnny Flynn’s new EP to have another wack. I then wrote and recorded this song. It’s lyrically influenced by a quotation from the Great Gatsby, which hit me whilst pondering my english exam tomorrow, describing Daisy as a “silver idol”, and also by recent experiences.
